The Online Safety Act, in plain English

What the UK Online Safety Act changes for adult sites, and what it does not require you to do here.
A closed notebook and a lamp on a wooden desk.

The Online Safety Act is why Only Lesbians asks you to confirm you are an adult before you can message anyone. The age check is free. You send a photo of a real ID. A person on our team looks at the date of birth. Other members never see the document, and your legal name is not put on your profile.

Until the check is approved, you cannot message, like, or flirt, and other members' photos stay blurred. Search stays closed until your email is confirmed, you have added a photo, and the check is done. You can still fill in the profile while you wait. Is a free dating site actually free? covers the money, which is none.

A driving licence or a biometric residence permit needs the front and the back, because the date of birth can be on the back. A passport is one photo. We are not asking for a copy you should send to another member. If someone on the site asks you for your ID, refuse and report them. How to block and report is that.

The check is there so the room is adults. It is not a subscription and it is not optional theatre. We will never ask you for a fee to complete it.
